Compliance requirements for Peru-origin goods

  • ⚠A CPTPP Certificate of Origin or Origin Declaration must be provided by the Peruvian exporter to claim preferential tariff rates under the CPTPP; goods must meet applicable Rules of Origin requirements
  • ⚠All fresh, chilled or frozen fish, seafood and agricultural products from Peru are subject to mandatory biosecurity inspection and may require import permits under the Biosecurity Act 2015; treatment or certification may be required for timber and wood products
  • ⚠Organic produce and food products must comply with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) requirements and labelling standards under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, including country of origin labelling
  • ⚠Imports of gold, silver and jewellery may be subject to scrutiny under AML/CTF reporting obligations, and all commercial imports must be lodged via a full Import Declaration in the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) for consignments valued over AUD 1,000
